Shortly after taking first place in the Bio-Gründer competition, the start-up project led by Dr. Marcel Hövels and Dr. André Neff has achieved another success. Last Friday, the Sweethoven Biotech project took 3rd place in the BioRiver Boost2024! At the event organized by “BioRiver-Life Science im Rheinland e.V.”, the IFMB scientists pitched to a jury of high-ranking representatives from Qiagen, Bayer, HTGF, Lonza, Miltenyi, NRW.Bank and Johnson&Johnson. The judges emphasized the great importance of developing healthier sugar alternatives and predicted enormous market potential for the fibre-based sweetener developed by Sweethoven Biotech at the IFMB.
