As part of the annual project meeting of the ADME4NGRA research project, the project participants came together at the end of March at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in Parma, Italy. The aim of the meeting was to exchange information on the current status of the work, present initial results and discuss methodological approaches in the context of new strategies for integrating ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion) data into the Next Generation Risk Assessment (NGRA). A particular focus was on interdisciplinary discussion between the partner institutions in order to further develop the models and data bases developed in terms of regulatory applicability. PhD students Jan-Lorenz Weyers and Natalie Hager also presented their current research findings and received valuable feedback from international experts.
